| 2016 Vision Board |
As 2016 come to a close, we look back at our year and reminisce on the highs and lows of 2016. I had many successes this year like: passing spring, summer, and fall semester with A's and B's (I passed College Algebra with an 88, math is a struggle for me), gained two internships, and a design assistant position. Through the good I had my bad of frustrations, doubt, and lost. Through all of that, I am continuously hopeful for the new year. To seal my success and focus on my goals, for the past three years I've made a vision board.
A vision board is a tool used to help clarify and maintain your focus on your life goals. Like many know, a vision board is literally any sort of board on which you display images that represent whatever you want to be, places you want to go, or things you want in life. How can a vision board help us students? A vision board can provide clarity, a great visual in our minds of what we want in our lives and career. Daily affirmations, looking at your board before class or during rough times can help you remember why you are doing it. Focus, how can you remain focused on your goals while family, friends, and circumstances are always pulling you in many directions? Looking at your vision board, daily.!

1. Reflect upon your goals.
Many of my goals have not changed. Only things I have achieved will be taken off. Think of what you want for 2017.
2. Visualize.
What do you want? How does that look?
3. Choose your theme.
You can decide to make a vision board that focuses on a very specific goal or all goals. Do you want to travel? Make a European themed vision board. Do you want to pass all your classes and get more involved in the design industry? Make a board for that too.
4.
Decide the format of your vision board.
Choose a physical board like poster-board, cork-board, canvas, or anything that can be hung or propped against a wall. I chose a canvas because I get to wrap it with a fabric of my choice (Its the designer in me ha.!)
5.
Gather inspirational images.
Look on the internet, search magazines and photographs, newspaper clippings, postcards, and labels. (Get magazines from libraries, hair salons, doctor offices, showrooms, or YMCA)
6.
Gather quotes and words.
Put affirmations on your board. You want your board to be very visual. Put sayings that will stick with you daily and motivate you to keep going. I put bible verses that pertain to me on my board.
7.
Putting it all together.
Experiment with different designs-look online for awesome examples. Go to
